My mother, a divorced Chinese woman in her fifties reconnects with me, her estranged queer son, in our hometown I escaped prior. Our train journey traverses through places in our shared memories, becoming a catalyst for mutual reflection as we exchange intimate diaries and reveal layers of intertwined family traumas. Amidst these revelations, I disclose my gender identity and ongoing battle with depression to her.
