Yifei”Yash” Zhang (he/they) is a filmmaker from Tengzhou, China. They recently graduated from the Creative Documentary Master of Fine Art programe at University College London, UK. In 2022, they graduated as a Theatre and Film&Media Studies major from Rhodes College, Memphis, the United States. They spend most of their time exploring themes about queerness, fluidity, mental health, post-humanism, and traumas in their film works.
Their short films and involved productions have been selected and screened at multiple labs, pitches, festivals,queer venues, and exhibitions, including UnionDocs Summer Lab(2024), Edinburgh Pitch(2024), Nowness China(2024), Sheffield Doc Fest(2024), Shanghai Elevator Queer Films Screening,Indie Memphis Film Festival (2022), Mao International Film Week (2022), International Short Film Festival Canton (2023), Festival of the Moving Image (2023), Lang Moving Image Exhibition (2023), The 2nd Vita Horizon Chinese Film Festival (2024),etc.
