I was stranded in Kathmandu in 2020, the year that COVID struck, the world went into lockdown. Thousands of people&#38;nbsp; started dying everyday, and I was staying with my Nepali family at the time, couldn’t do anything. I was feeling desperate, and immobilized everyday both mentally and physically. During that time, I founded a dusty book at a local library, and encountered the symbol of Mandala. Since then, my worldview has been drastically shaped by Mandala.&#38;nbsp;

Mandala symbolizes encounters, changes, and growth. After leaving Nepal, I started to notice that Mandala-like changes in my body and spirits. My identities start to change. I start spending time learning spirituality&#38;amp;buddhism. I also start to seek healings and therapies and countering my family and early life traumas and abuses.
 Thus, I want to embrace this symbol in my body and in my artworks.︎”

Hi ^^

I'm Yash (一飞). I'm a filmmaker, producer, editor, and occasionally a grower, performer, and dancer. My work explores topics like queerness, fluidity, depression experience, non-binariness. I am recently researching on fungus and caring/healing.

I'm currently working on my debut feature documentary, "Ma, Let's Fly Together 飞行船," which has been selected for the UnionDocs Summer Lab (2024), Edinburgh Pitch (2024), IDFA Project Space (2025), Sheffield MeetMarket (2025), CNEX Chinese Doc Forum (2025), Queer Art Mentorship (2025), etc.

My short films and collaborations have been featured at various festivals and exhibitions, including Alchemy Film and Moving Image Festival (2025), QueerEast (2025), Nowness China (2024), Sheffield Doc Fest (2024), Indie Memphis Film Festival (2022), etc.

I hold an MFA in Creative Documentary from University College London (UK) and a BA in Theatre and Film (Interdisciplinary major, Honor) from Rhodes College, Memphis, TN, US.

德斯巴拉门这天来了个新伙计！他刚到来的那天，大家绞尽脑汁想了好久，想要给他-名字。有人想叫他诗马，还有人叫他愚马，想来想去哥说还不如直接就叫他斑马。翻来覆去，阿P提到：荷马！大家异口同声地附和道："荷马好，就叫荷马！"荷马来的那天我们一路和他一起兜着风从凤凰回到腊尔山。他在卡车顶上卧着，随着疲惫的夜光赶回山谷。
荷马来的那天我们一路和他一起兜着风从凤凰回到腊尔山。他在卡车顶上卧着，随着疲惫的夜光赶回山谷。荷马来自摩西，摩西已经很久没有人的痕迹了。从什么时候开始的呢？他不记得了，只模糊记得那是- 𠆤突然到来的寒冷冬夜。人们绝望地哭泣，在街头奔跑，拖着轮椅戴着口罩在白色的建筑物前排着长队。荷马闭上了眼睛，他不敢看这一切。死一般的寂静。歇斯底里的叫声与婴儿的哭泣声，眼泪化作尘埃飘走。过了好久，天亮了，摩西的人消失了，摩西的夜晚也被遗忘了。
到了巴拉门的日子，荷马像一个守护神一样，立在山谷的桥头，守护着身后的土地。月光酒在他的黑白色的身体上。沙发与桌子摆在泥泞的四周，黑暗的泥士与羸弱的月光，像是一处破落的剧场。荷马呢，孤独地对着夜空，吟诵着赫克托尔的独白。在这潮湿的泥土间，没有特洛伊的硝烟，倒是多了些压过的挖掘机的车轮印。自己是什么呢？这个问题荷马想了好久好久。他一直觉得自己是个很荒嘐的存在。在摩西的日子里，荷马有时站在街头，人群像蚂蚁般日复一日地从自己身体上爬过：“他们拥抱我，亲吻我，和我合照。但我明白，我不过是他们梦里方舟上的仿生品。这样想着，荷马觉得自己的存在反而有种悲戚的灭世感像是地球生命灭绝的祭品。自己只存在与概念之中，如同他皮肤的颜色一样，活在摄影机洞穴的影子里，是一个每天被不断重复捕捉的复制品。
荷马没有看见过自己，他总是被别人看到，他是永远活在别人眼睛和摄影机下的存在。
我们都愛荷马。有一天天很冷，我们露过桥头时，把帽子国巾都给他戴上，以免他着凉。他在冷风中仁立着，眼神透露着忧愁和慈悲。山谷的孩子们都爱拥抱，一是孩子们互相爱着彼此，二是天气太冷了需要拥抱取暖。
我们也经常拥抱荷马。尤其是愚人船和泰里。泰里总是在荷马马背上跳来跳去，泰里像一匹雄性的野马，炽热的荷尔蒙，温暖着荷马的背。他总爱靠着荷马的脖颈上，望着天际边的峭壁，风吹过野草，沙沙作响。愚人船喜欢躺在荷马的腰上。她经常把四肢展开，把身体交给大地和天空，平躺在马背上，望着星空与梦。在下过雨后的清晨，帮荷马擦干眼角的露水。
荷马的眼睛始终面朝着前方，他没法低下头沉思，也没法仰望天空。他只是在那儿，每日静静地凝视着山谷。在晨曦和余霞的日夜往复里，荷马慢慢感觉到了自己的存在。那一天，那是一个许久不见的阳光灿烂的日子，清晨的第一缕阳光洒在他的被露水打湿的瞳孔上，他的心里涌起了一股热量。那一天，荷马心里有了自己的山谷，荷马也终于发现了那个他从诞生以来一直在思考的答案。荷马说那一天，他感到了山谷的回应，他发现在他凝视着山谷的时候，山谷也在凝视着他。划过的流星沉寂的大地中在山谷中轰隆作响，荷马在回归山谷的过程中，发现了自己存在的意义。荷马是山谷，山谷也是荷马。
临别的一天，荷马告诉我，他在死亡和新生交替的黎明里，看到了未来。那个未来是什么呢？我不知道，没有人知道。可是我能感觉到只要山谷在那，荷马在那，未来就在那儿。

	Kathmandu Wires and poles
"At that moment I felt like I am dead. When my friend called me, I eased my nerves. Looking at the burning wires on the ground, I ran away and called the police."Two months ago, when I was showing my brother Santosh some random pictures I took on the street, he pointed to the pole and said such. The moment he saw the pole, it seemed that his memory was burning again. I lived with him for 5 months and I have never seen him so hysterical.Two months later, he took me to the gate of his school, the place where he was closest to death.Chaos, disorder, endless spread and no ends. Those poles and wires are the closest metaphor of death in daily life-the endless blackness hidden in this colorful world.
